Lakewood Lodge has a multitude of winter activity options for your winter get away. Whether your preference is to snowmobile, ice fish, cross country ski or simply build a snowman or sled with your family Lakewood Lodge has the all the amenities of home including fireplaces, dishwashers, cable TV and more for the perfect get away from the hectic routine of everyday life. If you are up to a true Northern Minnesota winter vacation let Lakewood Lodge set you and your family up for dog sled rides across the lakes and thru the woods. A special time at Lakewood Lodge is the second weekend of January each year where you can participate in the Deer River Winter Festival that offers old fashioned winter fun such as dog sled rides, horse drawn carriage rides, ax throwing and music. This is also the annual White Oak Dog Sled Races that start in Deer River and end at 3 different locations close to Lakewood Lodge with the longest race being a qualifying race for the Iditarod.
