Minnesota Ice Fishing on Sand Lake produces nice limits of fish for ice anglers. You’ll catch jumbo perch, crappies, walleye, northern pike and pan fish. Walleye and northern pike season ends in late February while crappie, perch and pan fish usually stay strong through March. While ice fishing patience is the key the benefit is well worth the wait. Fresh fried fish from the cold winter waters some how just taste better. Lakewood Lodge offers a year round heated fish cleaning house with running water to clean your catch of the day.

If you have a preferred ice fishing lake other than Sand Lake Lakewood Lodge is 3 miles to Bowstring Lake, 10 miles to Round Lake and 10 miles to Lake Winnibigoshish as well as a short drive to hundreds of Itasca County Lakes.

Happy Ice Fishing Season!
